FibPlus please convert in Lazarus lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- laguna · 2019-02-10 02:14 Fibplus now is free   https://github.com/madorin/fibplus Please convert in lazarus Thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Bart · 2019-02-10 12:44 Well, you can set a bounty. Bart ---------------------------------------------------------------------- laguna · 2019-02-10 13:50 I program by passion. I have no business purposes, and I do not have the skills to convert such a large project into Lazarus. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Bart · 2019-02-10 13:56 But you seem to expect that other volunteer programmers do convert this large project for you? Bart ---------------------------------------------------------------------- laguna · 2019-02-10 14:13 No for me, but it's an open source project now, there are so many projects done with Delphi 7, which use FibPlus, it could be a good incentive to migrate to lazarus. Looking at the header of some files I see that a "license.txt" is mentioned but this is not found anywhere. I am a bit in doubt if this really is legal. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- laguna · 2019-02-10 14:32 see this https://www.firebirdnews.org/fibplus-library-github-repository/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ASBzone · 2019-02-10 15:59 Quote from: laguna on February 10, 2019, 03:32:12 pmsee this https://www.firebirdnews.org/fibplus-library-github-repository/ "...that seems to be abandoned..." That's some dangerous territory there. "...without pretending to any copyrights." And that's the wisest thing that was said thus far. Still, the earlier comments remain: This type of work is not something that volunteers can be expected to pick up with any urgency -- even in the clearest of situations.  And now the situation is quite murky. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- laguna · 2019-02-10 17:31 Ok. Thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcov · 2019-02-10 17:32 Search lazarus and fpc maillist archives circa 2007-8, afaik there has been attempt before.
