Help with ABS & DBS files lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Epsilonn · 2016-09-21 16:30 Hello all, I have 2 files, one .abs and one .dbs from someone that has a video receiver and wishes to have his company logo on the TV Screen instead of some default value. Now he extracted these two files from the device's memory and sent them to me hoping I could help. The extensions of the files led me to finding out that they can be opened with softwares like MySQL, Absolut Database etc. (you can find online the whole list) but I could not find one single piece of software that can actually open them and let me find  the line coresponding to the logo to overwrite it. Here is the dropbox link to the two files : https://www.dropbox.com/sh /55q4599b6jbindd/AACP3PxXuZ8i0nrG7wT6gYITa?dl=0 Can someone help me please? Thank you, Nick ---------------------------------------------------------------------- madref · 2016-09-22 19:17 i am attempting to open them with DB Browser for SQLite on my mac. But it says it's password protected ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Epsilonn · 2016-09-22 19:44 Hello madref, Is there anything I can do? Do you know of any way of removing the password? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- madref · 2016-09-22 19:51 Nope ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Epsilonn · 2016-09-22 20:24 Anyone else please help! At least the .ABS file is not a database file. It contains a bootloader (look at it with a hex-editor). It says: NCRCbootloader and DVBS2---0.1.0...2010-03-11 For more information https://www.reddit.com/r/ReverseEngineering/comments/glr25/decompile_a n_abs_file/ It's in binary form so you would have to find out where each segment begins and what they mean. An example can be found here http://www.sat-universe.com/showthread.php?t=247993&page=3 And even if you identify the place where the logos are (with disassembling it), reassembling it with a different logo might prove more difficult. The .DBS is a NCRCdefaultdb file. I don't think this is standard SQLite format. I do think the .ABS contains logos and the .DBS only contains other info like program and channel information. Either way... I think you have better luck asking at a more specific forum like http://www.sat-universe.com/ or a forum specific for that receiver. B.T.W. I used HxD hexeditor to view the files.
