What to do ?

It should work. I have used:

 ODBC1.Driver := 'MySQL ODBC 5.3 Unicode Driver'; // or 'MySQL ODBC
5.3 ANSI Driver'     ODBC1.Params.Add('SERVER=localhost');   
 ODBC1.Params.Add('PORT=3306');   
 ODBC1.Params.Add('DATABASE=test');   
 ODBC1.Params.Add('charset=utf8'); 
And it connects sucessfully!

Please check in your ODBC driver manager names of drivers (in Windows
ODBC Driver manager it is "Driver" tab)
And check if your application and drivers are both 32bit or both
64bit!
