What about tiOPF with Firebird versus SQLite versus DOM XML ? lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- gelinp · 2016-04-24 17:21 It looks like tiOPF dosn't support SQLite.... And I've been working hard this afternoon to try to install FIREBIRD into Linux Debian, without success, because of bad firebord user right into restricted directories to save database, I think. I was wondering myself if XML flat files database solution with DOM could be an other solution. I wand a no install solution for a small application, so finaly FIREBIRD with it's own server doesn't look to be my solution... Do you think a XML DOM solution will be good for a lot of data, but only one user ? Thank you for your response.... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- fred · 2016-04-24 19:13 I have not used it myself but perhaps you could use Firebird Embedded Server? http://www.firebirdsql.org/manual/ufb-cs-embedded.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Cyrax · 2016-04-24 20:13 Quote from: gelinp on April 24, 2016, 07:21:39 pmIt looks like tiOPF dosn't support SQLite.... Thank you for your response.... tiOPF does support SQLite. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- gelinp · 2016-04-25 04:31 Into a Quick guide to tiOPF there is not SQLite listed. But eefectively I can see now SQLite into the list of persistance layers displayed into Sourceforge. So I could thin tiOPF for ma project now... But do you know if it's a direct supporgt or if tiOPF use ODBC or other SGBD manager to run SQLite ? I was looking for a consistant PDF documentation file, but into the tiOPF site there is only some web pages... Do you know a good book about tiOPF or a PDF file as complet as possible ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zoran · 2016-04-25 08:39 The best way to get support for tiOPF is asking in dedicated news group - tiopf.support. See here - http://tiopf.sourceforge.net/Support.shtml Ask there and Graeme will tell you what is actual status of SQLite in tiOPF. This news group is the place where he answers all questions about tiOPF. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Graeme · 2016-04-25 10:56 Quote from: gelinp on April 24, 2016, 07:21:39 pmIt looks like tiOPF dosn't support SQLite.... It does. Currently SQLite3 support is supplied via the SqlDB components or the Asqlite library, but I'm sure adding Zeos support is easy too. The website only lists some examples of what is supported... db components and actual backends. The combinations are too large to list it all over the place on the website. The best place to find what is supported is by looking in the source tree (tiQueryXXX units), or simply look at the uses clause in the tiOPFManager.pas unit. Code: Pascal  [Select][+][-]window.onload = function(){var x1 = document.getElementById("main_content_section"); if (x1) { var x = document.getElementsByClassName("geshi");for (var i = 0; i   {$IFDEF LINK_ADOACCESS}       ,tiQueryADOAccess     {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_ADOSQLSERVER}    ,tiQueryADOSQLServer  {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_BDEPARADOX}      ,tiQueryBDEParadox    {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_CRSDAC}          ,tiQueryCrSdac        {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_CSV}             ,tiQueryCSV           {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_DOA}             ,tiQueryDOA           {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_FBL}             ,tiQueryFBL           {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_FIBP}            ,tiQueryFIBP          {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_IBO}             ,tiQueryIBO           {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_IBX}             ,tiQueryIBX           {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_REMOTE}          ,tiQueryRemote        {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_SQLDB_IB}        ,tiQuerySqldbIB       {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_SQLDB_PQ}        ,tiQuerySqldbPQ       {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_SQLDB_Oracle}    ,tiQuerySqldbOracle   {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_SQLDB_SQLite3}   ,tiQuerySqldbSQLite3  {$ENDIF}//  {$IFDEF LINK_SQLDB_ODBC}      ,tiQuerySqldbODBC    {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_SQLDB_MySQL40}   ,tiQuerySqldbMySQL40  {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_SQLDB_MySQL41}   ,tiQuerySqldbMySQL41  {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_SQLDB_MySQL50}   ,tiQuerySqldbMySQL50  {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_SQLDB_MySQL55}   ,tiQuerySqldbMySQL55  {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_SQLDB_MSSQL}     ,tiQuerySqldbMSSQL    {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_TAB}             ,tiQueryTAB           {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_XML}             ,tiQueryXML           {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_XMLLIGHT}        ,tiQueryXMLLight      {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_ZEOS_FB}         ,tiQueryZeosIBFB      {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_ZEOS_MYSQL41}    ,tiQueryZeosMySQL41   {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_ZEOS_MYSQL50}    ,tiQueryZeosMySQL50   {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_DBISAM4}         ,tiQueryDBISAM4       {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_ASQLITE3}        ,tiQueryAsqlite3      {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_UIB_EB}          ,tiQueryUIB_EB        {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_UIB_FB}          ,tiQueryUIB_FB        {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_UIB_IB}          ,tiQueryUIB_IB        {$ENDIF}  {$IFDEF LINK_NEXUSDB}         ,tiQueryNexusDB       {$ENDIF}  Adding new combinations (DB components + backend) or completely new persistence layers is a simple and quick task. It is also very easy to hook that up to the existing unit tests to instantly tell you if everything is working okay or not. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Graeme · 2016-04-25 11:02 Quote from: gelinp on April 25, 2016, 06:31:35 amI was looking for a consistant PDF documentation file, but into the tiOPF site there is only some web pages... Do you know a good book about tiOPF or a PDF file as complet as possible ? Seems we can never please everybody. Originally we only had PDF documentation, then everybody complained that we don't have HTML docs. So we converted the PDF to HTML. Now you want it other way round again.  Most of the documentation (articles, guides, howto's etc) are now in HTML only. Some of the pages originated from *.doc or *.odt files - they might still be around somewhere on my hard drive. But the HTML versions are the only ones that are being maintained. The API Class documentation is generated by fpdoc. We have the HTML version available online, but you can generate INF, CHM, RTF versions if you need those. I personally use a INF version here.
