I have a application that i compile for both Win and MAC. There get
and save data via odbc to ms-sql 2014.

In Windows versionen all worksfine. BUT in MAC i'am in deep trouble
with special charcter. In my case 'æøå'

I have try to compile with {$codepage utf8}. This give no change

Then ALL combination with Utf16ToUtf8 Utf8ToUtf16... , still wrong.

I think that i'am missing some knowhow her (WideString?) Can som one
please giv my a hint.

My test is
From win i save  '123æøå' in Name in sql.
The value in Name in sql is then '123æøå'

From mac
s := SQLQuery1.FieldByName('Name').AsString;

Length(s) is 9. (3 for '123' and 6 for 'æøå')

Label1.Caption := s;     give me 123???????

I want to:
Label1.Caption := SomethingToUtf8(s); that will give ny 123æøå
