Hi, I tried to open a query with a select statement, one of the
columns is deffined as blob. When I open (sqldb) query lazarus
crashes.

I m using 1.4.4 w/fixes and 2.6.4.

I attached two sql files (one for table create, one with two inserts
with pictures).

I tried to create table on Oracle 11 with blob field, when I do select
* from tablename on query  I get access violation, did anybody stored
pictures in oracle 11 with Lazarus/FPC?

I know that is Lazarus Wiki not is actually somewhere, but
http://wiki.freepascal.org/Databases#sqldblaz.lpk says "Oracle (except
on Lazarus/FPC x64 for Windows)". What bitness of your FPC/Lazarus?
Using 32 bit versions I have no any problems with Oracle blobs, but it
was fiew years ago.

Can you try TRUNK version of FPC ? AFAIR there were patches to Oracle
after FPC 2.6.4
(You can download from getlazarus.org)

Thank you both for your answers, I m using 32 bit Lazarus on Win 64bit
windows.

I'm gonna try trunk version and let you know the results.

I recompiled Lazarus with FPC 3.0 RC2 and now it's working fine.

The main question is: when you are encounter the issue? When you open
the query or when you try to acces to the field value? Can you provide
a tiny code snippet and sign where is AV encountered? Thanks.

I encounter this issue when I try to open query (Active := True;) with
SQL.TEXT "select * from B_SLIKE_ARTIKALA", in my first post you have
table creation and data insert for my problem on Oracle 11.

When I recompiled with FPC 3 rc2, now it's opening okay.

Additional info: If you want to do this with FPC 2.6.4 use Zeos. I
tried to open same table from LazSqlX with Zeos drivers and it's
working fine. When I try to open from same program with SqlDb it
crashes, just like my IDE.
