"Server connect failed" lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TheOddOne · 2014-11-27 00:21 Hi there, I'm using Lazarus 1.2.6 on a 64-bit system on Windows 7. My website uses MySQL 5.5 and I've spent days trying to sort the connection issue that I've been having problems with. So after sorting the libmySQL.dll problem, I've encountered another problem with when I try to connect and click on connected = true, it displays the message "Server connect failed". I've made sure that all of the credentials are correct for the connection. I've made sure that the firewall allows port 3306 and allows lazarus. I've made sure that my website accepts my remote ip address as well although I keep getting this error message. It's not a lazarus issue. In your database use this sql command :  GRANT ALL ON *.* TO your_database_username@’%’ IDENTIFIED By ‘your_database_username_password’; ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Never · 2014-11-27 01:10 QuoteHave I done something wrong?yes you did 1) you delete the thread were 3 people contributed on your need [http://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,26574.msg163567/t opicseen.html ] 2) you have at least 2 niknames ThatGuyY / HelloWorld what is the porpouse of this? i'll stop here about what you did wrong i hope your age is under 12 other ways i can not see any excuses for your behaivor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TheOddOne · 2014-11-27 01:27 Check your private messages please ^^. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TheOddOne · 2014-11-27 02:54 Quote from: fredbrastux on November 27, 2014, 01:52:43 amFirst of all you need to know if your mysql database has permission for  remote and external access. It was me placing the port number in the hostname, which is apparently unrequired.
