TField.OnValidate - Abort lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- k1attila1 · 2014-11-14 06:00 Hello Delphi : procedure TForm1.ZTable1MASODIK1Validate(Sender: TField); begin  if sender.Value < 1000 then begin     ShowMessage('Too small');     Abort;  end; Lazarus : The onValidate method is called, but the Abort method doesn't work properly, because the cursor leave the actual dbedit and step to the next. Maybe the difference between the Delphi and Lazarus abort method (exception handling) ? Do you have idea how can i solve it ? Op : Win7 Many thanks in advance end; ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Blaazen · 2014-11-14 08:41 Cite from documentation: QuoteABORT Abort program execution. ... Abort raises an EAbort exception. http://www.freepascal.org/docs-html/rtl/sysutils/abort.html IMO this command is not intended to be used in Lazarus applications. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- k1attila1 · 2014-11-14 08:47 Dear Blaazen Thanks But then, i how validate ?in this situation ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hy · 2014-11-14 13:18 I would validate input data before posting to the database. If validate fails I'd do a setFocus to the (first) control containing invalid data and not posting.
