Sqlite3Dataset does not appear in Lazarus IDE!!? lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- panoss · 2014-10-06 07:42 I have installed Lazarus v1.2.4 and I can't find the component Sqlite3Dataset! Isn't it supposed to be in the 'Data Access' tab? It's not! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2014-10-06 07:47 Right click component palette, select View All, type sqli, what do you see? I see TSQLite3Connection - the one supplied with SQLDB. If you want to have the sqlite3dataset you'll have to install the relevant package yourself (Packages/Install/uninstall packages)... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- panoss · 2014-10-06 08:06 I installed sqlite3Laz 0.4. Still does not appear in the components. Now it's on the left, in the list 'installed'. It has a green '+'. When i selected it in the package info appeared: "Filename:  /usr/share/lazarus/1.2.4/components/sqlite/sqlite3laz.lpk Current state: selected for installation, not installed, RunAndDesignTime" Not installed?? I have save and rebuilt Lazarus. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2014-10-06 08:11 Let's see if the compilation worked: Package/Open package file, select the lpk from the path in your post. In the package window, click compile. Does that work? (Note: I've no experience on Linux with recompiling packages for system wide installed Lazarus; AFAIU, a copy of the package should be placed somewhere in your ~ directory...) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- panoss · 2014-10-06 08:15 Quote from: BigChimp on October 06, 2014, 10:11:12 amLet's see if the compilation worked: Package/Open package file, select the lpk from the path in your post. I did this but didn't work. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2014-10-06 08:18 So... post the error messages please (see first link in my signature). Right click on the messages window showing the errors and there you can select copy options... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- panoss · 2014-10-06 08:30 But there is no error. Everything goes normally (or looks like if it does), it compiles and everything. Only the component never shows up in the tab. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2014-10-06 08:32 QuoteLet's see if the compilation worked: QuoteDoes that work? and then you reply QuoteI did this but didn't work. Ehm ok. So you meant compilation did work but installation did not. Sorry, can't really help you - perhaps a Lazarus Linux guru can... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- panoss · 2014-10-06 08:44 Yes, compilation did work (or seemed to work) but installation did not. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- panoss · 2014-10-06 10:00 I reopened the package "/usr/share/lazarus/1.2.4/components/sqlite/sqlite3laz.lpk" and noticed that it had 'Required packages':LCL & IDEintf. I installed them, but...they remained as 'Required packages': ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mike.Cornflake · 2014-10-06 10:17 "Required Packages" is not a list of outstanding actions.  It's simply a list of prerequistes, and as your package successfully built then we know those prerequesites have been met. If any of the required packages were missing or in error, then you'd have had error messages telling you of this. Something else is going on, and I neither know what, nor what to ask you for further information.  I can only suggest you have a look in the registersqlite3.pas, see what controls that registers and which tabsheets they'll be installed on.  Then you can confirm whether the package installed correctly or not (maybe there's no Sqlite3Dataset in the register, in which case maybe this is not the package you're looking for...)
