MSAccess Transaction Processing lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Stag76 · 2014-07-17 12:01 I've just updated from Lazarus 1.0.14  to Lazarus 1.4.2, and have found that the MSAccess DataBase I'm updating via a TODBCConnection no longer updates automatically as rows are added or deleted. The TSQLTransaction had caNone in the Action Property, and this resulted in nothing being deleted from or added to the Tables. I changed this property to caCommit, which then populated the tables but prevented MSAccess from opening them while the population process was running. If I try to open a table via MSAccess while the Lazarus .exe is populating it, it says it is opened exclusively by another application, and will not let me open it until I exit the Lazarus .exe. I can get it to work  by inserting .StartTransaction and .Commit statements, but the table is not affected until the .commit statement (obviously), whereas previously I could open the table and the content would change as rows were added or deleted. Is there a way I can get it to update as it's processed and not deny access to the table. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LacaK · 2014-07-20 16:39 Try set in TODBCConnection1.Params['AUTOCOMMIT']:='1'; ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Stag76 · 2014-07-20 21:21 Thanks for your reply. I need assistance with  the format for adding this parameter in Code or in the Object Inspector Params Property. I can get it to Compile, but it cannot recognize the Parameter and therefore can't connect to the DataBase. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LacaK · 2014-07-21 07:35 Quote from: Stag76 on July 20, 2014, 11:21:28 pmI can get it to Compile, but it cannot recognize the Parameter and therefore can't connect to the DataBase. Yes, you must first connect and then use in code something like:   TODBCConnection1.Params['AUTOCOMMIT']:='1'; ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Stag76 · 2014-07-21 09:41 I finally got the Syntax correct, but it didn't solve the problem...the table is still locked until the update completes and I Close the .exe. I've re-installed 1.0.14 for now...thanks for your replies.
