SQLite connection issue *SOLVED* lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- spanners · 2014-05-27 15:52 I am setting up a proof of concept application for my A Level students and have hit a bit of a block. We are bound to SQLite due to restrictions on the school network and so I am setting up a Pascal application which should explain how to connect to a local database. So far, I have downloaded SQLite.exe and the DLL. Using the application, I have created a new database called testDB (screen shot below). I then created an application which should legitimately open the database and read from a table (another screen shot below). I noticed, however that the Lazarus application appears to be creating a database file with the same name as if the SQLite db doesn't exist - in the file structure these show up as two different files. The Lazarus one appears as a database file and the SQLite file just as a DB;File; ... this suggests to me that whatever I'm doing in SQLite is wrong. However, I can read and write to the database file through the application. Very, very confused. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- spanners · 2014-05-27 16:02 Solved my own problem! (it's amazing what enough coffee can do). In SQLite, I was adding the ; to the end of the .open command. Whilst this is needed for the SQL commands, it's not needed for the SQLite commands! Doh. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2014-05-27 18:21 Thanks for posting and hoping for a good coffee harvest
