Question on SQLiteLibraryName variable lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lukaszb · 2014-04-09 13:01 Just because of sheer curiosity . I wonder why this (SQLiteLibraryName variable) is a variable at all and not the property (published, to make things easier) of the TSQLite3Connection component. Isn't it slightly at odds with encapsulation idea ? Some ideas ? lukasz ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LacaK · 2014-04-11 10:01 SQLiteLibraryName from sqlite3conn is deprecated. Beter use TSQLDBLibraryLoader if you need load your own library. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ttomas · 2014-04-11 10:15 If your application have multiple connections (multithreaded or singlethreded, create conn-do your job-free conn) and this variable is property of TSQLite3Connection, then you will need to change this property in every connection. It is better to have global property of variable and set only ones when your app start/initialize. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcov · 2014-04-11 10:52 Quote from: LacaK on April 11, 2014, 12:01:50 pmSQLiteLibraryName from sqlite3conn is deprecated. Or do you mean the fact that the initialize of the header is called from the initialization ? (that IMHO should be deprecated) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LacaK · 2014-04-12 19:55 Quote from: marcov on April 11, 2014, 12:52:40 pmQuote from: LacaK on April 11, 2014, 12:01:50 pmSQLiteLibraryName from sqlite3conn is deprecated. Beter use TSQLDBLibraryLoader if you need load your own library. That's precisely what I wanted to do. The problem is that I work on the precompiled Win32 binary version of Lazarus which is based on the FPC version 2.6.2. The documentation of the SQLDBLibraryLoader http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/SQLDBLibraryLoader says, however, that: QuoteSupport for using SQlite with SQLDBLibraryLoader was added to FPC trunk (2.7.1) and is not available in earlier FPC versions. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcov · 2014-04-14 14:30 Quote from: LacaK on April 12, 2014, 09:55:12 pmThere is in sqlite3conn.pp: Code: [Select]   Var      SQLiteLibraryName : String absolute sqlite3dyn.SQLiteDefaultLibrary deprecated 'use sqlite3dyn.SQLiteDefaultLibrary instead'; Ok, so the one in sqlite3dyn is still valid. I meant sqlite3dyn should be usable without sqldb.
