Sqlite3 and Lazarus lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Glewins · 2014-02-24 15:49 Bear with me, I am an older Noobie. I have sqlite3 and lazarus talking.  I can update and insert and delete from a form. { I am a hold out from the late 80's, I dont do SQL.   Now I have to. } I have created another form.  Hmmn.  Database locked.   Had the opens in a formcreate, moved off to on show and closed on formclosed.  Now I get a Database not open. Can any one provide me with a application using more than 1 form accessing different tables in tfrom the sqlite3 db?  (The proper way.)   I am a Delphi/absolute/topaz programmer.  I just need to be led down the right path with the SQL syntax. George Lewins ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcov · 2014-02-24 15:53 Probably need to move the connection to a separate datamodule, and reference that in both forms. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Glewins · 2014-02-24 16:07 Thanks.  I will give that a try.    George ---------------------------------------------------------------------- fpcoder · 2014-02-25 18:48 If you want a book to learn SQL from then Sams Teach Yourself SQL in 10 Minutes is good read. And its not 10 minutes, more like a month. Quote from: Glewins on February 24, 2014, 04:49:16 pmBear with me, I am an older Noobie. George Lewins ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jeanchristophe · 2014-03-03 09:59 I am programming in my own time, just maybe like you do, and I think, you are going to meet a lot of headaches if you are using several form. Have you think about using the TPageControl instead? The problem(s)you are going to meet are not just about the SQLite table(s), but with the arguments, that you will have to move from one form to an another. Best Regards Jean-Christophe ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Glewins · 2014-03-07 20:40 Thanks Jeanchrisophe. I have the multi-form thing working just great now. :^)  Not sure if it would meet programming standards, but I have it all working. I will post my source code for a program I just wrote, once I have completed the reports.   Right now I am stuck on forcing Sqlite3 to search between dates.. But this is temporary. George. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Glewins · 2014-03-08 17:43 Now have the dates working.  Just cleaning up other areas.   George
