Get text from string field of ms-access table

I am trying to assign multiline text (from a string field) to a string
property of a listbox as follows:
  listbox1.items.Text := qry1.fieldbyname('AStringfield').AsString

I noticed that when the string in the field contains more than 255
char, I will get some extra items of strange characters in the list
box.  This occur when I am using ODBC/access file but not when I use
tdbf.

Does ms-access uses some special characters to indicate 'end of
string' in a string field?

Normally it should be no problem. but in some cases the AsString will
be implemented as a shortstring which is 255 long. You can use
.AsMemo. But I really think the ODBC has a limited of stringfields.
