TBufDataset, cannot access fields.

Gentlefolk;

Win 7 64 bit, Laz 1.0.14, FPC 2.6.2.

I have a TBufDataset and I cannot access any fields I have created via
the Fieldefs editor.

I create a couple of fields and then execute the following code:

Code: [Select]vDebug := OutEvents.DataSet.FieldDefs[0].Name;

This works correctly and vDebug is the name of the field.
OutEvents is a tdatasource pointing to the correct TBufDataset.

If I then execute the following

Code: [Select]OutEvents.DataSet.Fields[0].Value :=
InEvents.Dataset.FieldByName('EventNumber').AsInteger;

And get an error message that the access is out of bounds.

If I then try and access the field by means of

Code: [Select]OutEvents.DataSet.FieldByName('<fieldname>'). AsInteger
I get a message that '<fieldname>'
 is unknown.

Checked forums, bugtracker, nothing recent.

Any help appreciated, Ian.

You must call CreateDataset method of TBufDataset to create Fields
from FieldDefs.

Thank you for the response. It had to be something as basic as that
