Firebird error unknown table with SQLQuery lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ronhud · 2013-11-28 14:17 I have a Firebird database which in FlameRobin shows it contains 2 tables - 'energytable9' and 'configtable'.   In a Lazarus project I have a TIBConnection which will connect with the Firebird db and a SQLQuery which reads 'SELECT * FROM ENERGYTABLE9' and which returns the correct data.   I have another SQLQuery which reads 'SELECT * FROM CONFIGTABLE' but this returns error -204 Table Unknown.   I cant think why this is happening and would appreciate any help. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2013-11-28 15:32 If the rest of your setup/environment/program is the same, that would be strange indeed, yes. Note: you can run queries from within the IDE designer - in your program, with ibconnection etc set up design-time, go into the SQL property for the query object, then click the ... button. You'll see a window with SQL code, and you can run some statements like Code: [Select]SELECT * FROM CONFIGTABLE and press the play icon See screenshot, I'm using the employee.fdb from firebird. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ronhud · 2013-11-28 15:38 Thanks - I am using the designer facility to test the sql statement, that is why I find it odd that the dbconnection will work with one table but not find the other. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2013-11-28 15:41 Oh yes, of course I forgot: use the metadata tab and you can verify which tables Lazarus sees itself... http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Working_With_TSQLQuery#Running_your _own_SQL_and_getting_metadata
