Can't switch from TableLevel 4 to 7 DBF ? lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Robert W.B. · 2013-10-13 01:25 I try tochange the TableLevel from 4 to 7 but, i got a very funny errormessage! "B What does it mean? I attach a pix about it. Is this a Lazarus Windows 7 64 bit error? Does it work with TableLevel 7 in  Lazarus with 32 bit Windows 7? Lazarus 1.0.12 r42478 FPC 2.6.2 x86_64-win64-win32/win64 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2013-10-13 11:01 IIRC, this is an error in TDBF as supplied with FPC 2.6.2 - perhaps to do with character encoding but TBH I cannot remember. Edit: you may want to set the languageid property before creating the dbf in order to influence what codepage is used; perhaps that works for you. You could try using tablelevel 25 (FoxPro) or use FPC 2.7.1... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2013-10-13 12:04 Note: your description suggests you may be trying to switch tablelevel from an already existing tablelevel 4 to 7? That is not supported. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2013-10-13 12:07 Finally, please describe exactly what you're doing when the error occrus (see first link in my signature) - don't let people guess what's going on. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Robert W.B. · 2013-10-13 17:38 First, Excuse for my shy English. It's not easy to ask an educated question, to the Forum, when You not edjucated and only Selfmade! I tested TableLevel 25, thow it would allow Auto Increment fields but, it wouldn't work with autoincrement field at all! There is a new bug. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2013-10-13 19:38 About your English: I've got no problem with it... I can read French if that helps... so if you want to post a French description below your English, please feel free. I understand about the self education - I have the same thing myself. It often helps to include code or even the source code for a sample project... as well as indicate what goal you are trying to achieve at a higher level (e.g. I want to convert an existing dbf to another format or I want to write to a DBF format that supports autonumber etc). See the first link in my signature below.
