Just unpack somewhere, double-click. Regards. p.s. maybe you need to run in console: chmod +x EPgSQL (executable) before, if it not works. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2013-03-27 06:45 Good idea! Would the source be available somewher as I'd rather compile from source to test/break things on Windows ---------------------------------------------------------------------- exdatis · 2013-03-27 08:12 Thank you very much, BigChimp, I did not send the source code, because it is horrible (written for only 2 days). Application is written in openSuse12.3-32 bit.  uses SqlDB standard library. I have a  plan to write the same thing for Firebird database.    Win version, today(with some changes for both, linux and win). I hope, for a few weeks, real admin tool....    Regards! p.s. I'll publish source code also, just a little time to fix it... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- exdatis · 2013-03-27 14:38 If somebody wants to test, win ver: http://sourceforge.net/projects/epgsql/?source=directory PostgreSQL  lightweight query builder. Just unpack somewhere, double-click. Regards. p.s. The problem is Clipboard... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- exdatis · 2013-03-27 21:13 The clipboard problem, solved(ver.0.6). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- exdatis · 2013-03-28 18:06 New-0.7 Regards ---------------------------------------------------------------------- exdatis · 2013-03-29 12:44 New version, and that's enough for 5 days of work, rest .... sourceforge.net/projects/epgsql/files/?source=navbar Regards ---------------------------------------------------------------------- exdatis · 2013-04-06 13:38 A new, quite different version(0.7.3 - linux-win): https://sourceforge.net/projects/epgsql/ If it is possible, use primarily comments in C style /* ... */, safe to use, especially if the comments contain SQL keywords. Regards. p.s. previous was ridiculous, sorry... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- exdatis · 2013-04-12 21:10 There is a new ver(0.7.4-linux -sourceforge), next version, maybe, for a few months. I have a little problem on win platform but I think it will be ready in a day or two. Regards. p.s. No more comments from me, don't worry ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2013-04-13 06:45 Looks nice! New version runs on my x86 Debian unstable; can't seem to find a way to add a column name to the query (have tried double click). My VM's screen is a bit small; the application is wider than the screen (cuts off after about the copy icon), but I can live with that Got this on the console when running the application... don't know if this is normal (not that much of a GUI guy & certainly not on Linux): Code: [Select](EPgSQL:3115): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_selection_owner_set: assertion `widget == NULL || gtk_widget_get_realized (widget)' failed (EPgSQL:3115): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_window_set_focus: assertion `gtk_widget_get_can_focus (focus)' failed WARNING: TGtk2WidgetSet.InvalidateRect refused invalidating during paint message: TFrmAbout (EPgSQL:3115): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_selection_owner_set: assertion `widget == NULL || gtk_widget_get_realized (widget)' failed Feature requests: - I would suggest adding shortcut keys (e.g. Ctrl-Enter for run query) and tooltips on the corresponding icons - You have a rightclick menu Get pascal code which puts the code in the pascal code tab. Can't you generate that code dynamically when you open the tab and get rid of the rightclick menu? - Tools/backup db gave a warning about directory having the wrong permissions and asked for a password. Don't know if you can fix those when calling the backup. - If you use a version control tool (hg,svn, git) internally and you're going to publish the source code, please consider doing so. No matter how ugly it is! Not everybody's interested in running some random binary... and maybe you'll get contributions (see the other thread about query parsing, I think from Snorkel). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- exdatis · 2013-04-13 07:22 Thank you very much, Big Chimp. I tried to gen .pgpass and I haven't problem, I'll see. I agree, needs more shortcuts. Thanks for a few so good ideas! I'll try. Regards!
