Is it possible to fill TDbGrid columns from TDbf fields from within
Lazarus

Since I got 55 columns I've been searching to have the columns of a
TDbGrid automatically filled from the fields of a TDbf from within the
Lazarus ide, either from the FieldDefs or EditFields.
Did I overlook something or is doing it by hand or programatically the
only way.

Provided your dbf's Tablename property is set correctly, and you have
a datasource set up to correctly link that dbf instance with the
dbGrid the field objects are autocreated. Simply setting the dbf's
Active property to True should be all you need to do.

I see. The problem may have been then that I didn't start out clean
but with a very old Delphi 1 project where there were FieldDefs
present but needed changing due to changes in a lot of the columns.
I will try your suggestion when I have some time.
