TDBMemo: when are changes in TDBMemo text contents considered? lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Elmug ยท 2012-07-03 19:14 On a Windows 7, PostgreSQL setup: Hi everyone, I am finding that on a TDBMemo used in conjunction with a TDBGrid, when one enters the said Memo and does a select-all, delete, and then one goes and commit by click of commit button, and a refresh, the delete was NOT considered. It only is considered if after the delete, one enters the Memo field and moves the cursor around, even making no changes. The SAME thing I find happens when I drop a text file into it. I have to enter the Memo and move the cursor as if editing, then yes, the dropped file is saved by commit and proven so by refresh. If I do a commit by button, without manually entering the Memo field, then the data change in the TDBMemo does not happen to the database. Sounds weird to me, or wrong, and would hope to know why this is so. Thanks!
