Was looking for a way to handle date input for a database and found
the TDBCalendar. Then thought what if the TDateEdit were data aware.
That would be even better. Searching lead to
http://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=15189 .
Looks like this component has been in the works for a long time. Is
anyone aware of what is happening with this component if anything?

Yes you are right it is looong time.
I posted original code, but I do not return to it more.
(I expected, that Jesus Reyes fixes easy all problems)
As you can see in bug report no activity for 1.5 year.
You can comment in bug report, may be that Jesus Reyes noticed it and
will finish work
