this may be an idiotic question but

How do you apply a sql query to a sqlite :memory: database without
destroying your in memory data?

Haven't worked with sqlite and FreePascal, but... if it's just a
select query, why should it mess with your data?

If it's an insert/delete/update query... it's meant to change your in
memory data.

Do you have problems?

Not so simple I'm afraid it's a straight select query. question is how
do you apply it and get a restricted result set?

executedirect does not return a resultset similarly execsql normally
closing the dataset setting the sql select string in the SQL parameter
and opening it would work but if you try this with an in memory set
the data vanishes.

I'm stumped
