Lazarus + NOSQL + Cassandra

Hello guys, I wanted to know if any of you had already interfaced to
Cassandra Lazarus (a non-relational db). In my opinion can be an
excellent combination, especially if maybe added Zeos. Someone has
already encountered the problem?!

Cassandra is a key/value store with variable key and value length.
This doesn't fit the fpc/delphi /zeos dataset model. So your only
option is a pascal binding for the Thrift API used by Cassandra. Here
http://pascassa.codeplex.com/ is a project for a client library for
the Cassandra database for Delphi XE using that approach.

I had a quick look at the code in the pascassa project. It uses a lot
of the new language features in Delphi XE such as generics and nested
classes. You could try with 2.7.1 svn to check whether all language
features are used.
Other than that, cassandra is used mostly on unix. So I don't expect
platform issues.

Maria DB has a Cassandra integration - this would make a Cassandra
cluster accessible through the MySQL driver immediately.

Thanks for the tips. I don't know what Redis is... I don't know what
Maria DB is... I guess I will have to do some research on these
topics... At least now I know where to look. Using Maria DB sounds
like an easier approach
