Few questions on TBufDataset, Locate, Indexes

1. Does Locate benefit from indexes?
2. What happens if cursor is, let say in middle of dataset, start
Locate, dataset comes to EOF. Does Locate continous from BOF?
3. RecordCount for filtered dataset?

I'm not sure for TBufDataset specifically, but here's what I know of
TDataset descendants in general: 1. Locate indeed does use indexes to
find data quickly, I'm not even sure if it works without them, 2.
Locate always searches the whole table, independent of the current
cursor position.
