FIREBIRD db posted in decimal field 128.0, but represent as 1.3E2 lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- finalist · 2011-07-12 00:50 Under Windows 7: In FIREBIRD db I have posted 128.0000 into a DECIMAL(16,4) field. Zeos Access components:  TZConnection, TZQuery. DBGrid, DBEdit. LAZARUS application represent 128 as 1.3E2 by DBGRID, and by DBEDIT too. Is there any way above DECIMAL to be represent as 128.0000 ? Thank you ! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Arbee · 2011-07-12 09:35 I can confirm this happens with ZEOS.  Have you tried SQLDB in stead?  That works fine. When using ZEOS you could add the following, right behind the open of the query: Code: [Select]   DBGrid1.Columns[0].DisplayFormat := '#0.0000'; (provided of course that the number is in the first column) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zoran · 2011-07-12 11:01 Or, even better, you can set the TField's (not TColumn's) DisplayFormat property, then the value will appear correctly in all db aware controls — in dbedit, dbgrid, ... You can set it in object inspector if you use persistent fields. See: http://docwiki.embarcadero.com/VCL/en/DB.TNumericField.DisplayFormat Also take a look at EditFormat and Alignment properties of TNumericField: http://docwiki.embarcadero.com/VCL/en/DB.TNumericField_Properties In order to gain even more control of display formatting, you can use field's OnGetText and OnSetText properties. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- finalist · 2011-07-12 12:22 Thank you Arbee ! Thank you Zoran ! Both of you are right about my problem. I will decide to continue using Zeos or to move to use SQLdb.
