Hi

I am using Lazarus with a Firebird Version 2 Database

I dropped an IB Connection onto a form and entered the host_
name,database, user_name and password and made it active.

Dropped an SQLTransaction and entered the database name and set the
action to caCommit.

Dropped a SQL Script Component onto the form and set the database to
Ibconnection1 and the transaction to SQL transaction1 and the sql to
”  insert into CARRIER ( CARRIER_CODE, CARRIER_NAME, ACCOUNT_NUMBER )
VALUES 'CODE','Joe Bloggs','ACC_NO'; “

Dropped a button onto the form and added the following to the on click
event    sqlscript1.ExecuteScript;

The program runs but does nothing

I expected the script to add a record to the database.  What am I
doing wrong.

Are you sure you reproduce the SQL command correct in this topic?

VALUES 'CODE','Joe Bloggs','ACC_NO'

should be

VALUES ('CODE','Joe Bloggs','ACC_NO')

Probably too obvious, but just to be sure.

Have you tried explicitely do a SQLTransction.Commit() afterwards?
