MySQL 5.1  Does it work with current Linux version of Lazarus?

I notice that that under the SQLdb tab there is only a control for 
MySQL 50?
I am about to attempt the MySQL database tutorials. 
Is there any point?  As the version of MySQL installed on my machine
is 5.1 and apt-get does not find version 5.0 from my repositories.

There is MySQL51 component on MySQL tab in 0.9.31 snapshots.

2.5.1 or 2.4.2 based?   Afaik the 5.1 connection only got merged to
2.4 series with the upcoming 2.4.4

Sorry for forgetting the SQLDB source code is in freepascal 2.5.1 svn.

According to the link above this will work with 5.1 using 5.0 control.

Running the getlaz script on Linux  The current Linux version is
0.9.28.2-8.
