Is this a bug of sqlite3 or Ide? lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BlueIcaro · 2010-10-15 12:18 Hello, I found something strange. In a app. with a form and a datamodule. In the datamodule I add a sqlite3dataset, and I connect it to a DataSet. I put in sqlite3dataset the path to de file and the name of the table. Then I create a table with 3 fields, for example. I edit the field using the pop-up menu of the sqlite3dataset component. At this time, I desactive the sqlite3dataset (active = false).I go to pop-up menu edit fields, and remove the fields, I go to create table menu, I delete one field, and Create again the table (lazarus shows a message saying: "All data will lost" or some thing like this). I select field edit menu (pop-up menu), and again Add Field, and I can see/add the 3 "original" fields. The field that I removed from table, it avaliable in the field list. I investigatesd it, and I found that the field it's avaliable on the object inspector windows. If I remove it from this windows, the field doesn't apper in th field list, when I select edit fields pop-up menu. /BlueIcaro P.D. I using a 0.9.29 svn: 27701 fpc: 2.4.3 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LuizAmérico · 2010-10-15 13:47 Seems a problem in the IDE (it's not deleting the field when deleting through the field editor) Delete the added fields using the context menu of the Object Inpector and readd the fields ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BlueIcaro · 2010-10-15 14:01 Quote from: LuizAmérico on October 15, 2010, 03:47:14 pmSeems a problem in the IDE (it's not deleting the field when deleting through the field editor) Delete the added fields using the context menu of the Object Inpector and readd the fields Yes I think so, it's a bug from the IDE, I was making some test more, after post de issue. For WorkAround I delete the field using the Object inspector as you say. So I 'll report the bug. /BlueIcaro ---------------------------------------------------------------------- xenblaise · 2010-10-16 16:39 Quotesqlite3dataset component.? hi Do you mean theTSQLquery? or the other? Can you post the link of that sqlite3dataset component. Thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BlueIcaro · 2010-10-16 17:10 Quote from: xenablaise on October 16, 2010, 06:39:11 pmQuotesqlite3dataset component.? hi Do you mean theTSQLquery? or the other? Can you post the link of that sqlite3dataset component. Thanks It's a TSqlite3Dataset. You have the component in the lazarus\components. But before install it, you must place the sqlite3.dll in a foler where your SO can find it. I Windows I put in Windows dir. /BlueIcaro ---------------------------------------------------------------------- xenblaise · 2010-10-16 17:26 Yes, you can put sqlite3.dll inside your main application folder. About TSqlite3Dataset? There is no TSqlite3Dataset in my [SQLdb] palette or in my [Data Access] palette. Where did you get that component? I think your refering to a TSQLite3Connection? not TSqlite3Dataset. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BlueIcaro · 2010-10-16 18:15 Quote from: xenablaise on October 16, 2010, 07:26:58 pmYes, you can put sqlite3.dll inside your main application folder. You MUST install the package, You can find it, in the components folder, inside of your lazarus's folder instalation. Also you must put the DLL Where your OS can find it, because after install SQLite package, Lazarus need the DLL to start, if not, lazarus will show a message error, and it doesn't start up. http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Lazarus_Database_Tutorial#Lazarus_a nd_SQLite ---------------------------------------------------------------------- xenblaise · 2010-10-17 02:13 QuoteAlso you must put the DLL Where your OS can find it, because after install SQLite package, Lazarus need the DLL to start, if not, lazarus will show a message error, and it doesn't start up.Yes, I know that thank you. But for TSqlite3Dataset if there is, I dont know that. Let me try it. QuoteThis components is not installed in lazarus by default. You MUST install the package, You can find it, in the components folder, How would I do this?  BUT what is the difference if I use TSQLquery?, I think they are the same, because TSQLquery is a decendant of TxxxDataSet. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- xenblaise · 2010-10-17 02:34 >>How would I do this? Ok; I did open sqlite3laz.lpk then Lazarus was renamed to Lazarus.old.exe with filesize 10.5mb then a new Lazarus.exe with filesize 96.6mb Opening Lazarus?, I didn't find new component for SQLite. So, I renamed back to the original Lazarus size. I think TSQLQuery is the stable component for it is the global Tdataset for all SQLConnections. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- xenblaise · 2010-10-17 03:10 And, I did not stop. I've successfully installed a new component name: TSQLiteDataSet by: opening...sqlitelaz.lpk, compiled and installed. Put sqlite.dll(version4) to "D:\lazarus\fpc\2.2.4\bin\i386-win32\" I think this is the new sqlite version...4? the newest from sqlite.org that I downloaded. Putting sqlite version 3 will error Lazarus(i dont know why, probably v3 doesn't include TDataSet and compiled Lazarus with that sqlite version4). So, I have to put sqlite version 4. before I installed this new component: Lazarus worked for sqlite version 3. anyway, Let me try it, Thanks Oh, in your experience! whats the difference between TSQLQuery and TSQLiteDataSet?, Since TSQLQuery is the global DataSet for all SQLconnections, and TSQLiteDataSet is for SQLite only? Whats your comment about that? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BlueIcaro · 2010-10-17 10:35 Quote from: xenablaise on October 17, 2010, 05:10:39 am Oh, in your experience! whats the difference between TSQLQuery and TSQLiteDataSet?, Since TSQLQuery is the global DataSet for all SQLconnections, and TSQLiteDataSet is for SQLite only? I new in DataBase with lazarus, May be other people in this forum can help you /BlueIcaro ---------------------------------------------------------------------- xenblaise · 2010-10-17 12:37 Oh, in that case you should use TSQLQuery, not TSQLiteDataset. TSQLiteDataset can only be use in SQLITE only, but TSQLQuery can be use to any SQLconnections(Globally). I assume you already downloaded my work as a newbie exploring SQLdbS. http://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,10811.0.html Tell everyone about Lazarus. Thank you for some infos that you've shared. I enjoy knowing it.
