Map datasets to XML and vice-versa lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JD · 2010-09-10 14:49 Hi there, I'm working on a project where the front-end is based on data in XML files but the server uses standard datasets to store & retrieve data from the database backend. The issue is how to exchange data seamlessly between the XML format and the dataset format. I'd appreciate your ideas. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- davesimplewear · 2010-09-10 23:46 I don't know if this is what you are looking for, needs conversion from delphi to lazarus, jansoft easyxml, he has created a dataset and conversion routines, worth a look anyway. Dave ---------------------------------------------------------------------- theo · 2010-09-11 00:54 I don't know what exactly you're after, but TBufDataSet in bufdataset has an option to load xml files. I wrote a "PHP Tunnel" - not ready for offical release - with it. That is, using MySQL queries over TCP Port 80 (Webserver) and getting an XML-Result, which works with LCL visual components. Because most ISP's won't open firewall for MySQL Port. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JD · 2010-09-13 04:37 Quote from: davesimplewear on September 11, 2010, 01:46:00 amI don't know if this is what you are looking for, needs conversion from delphi to lazarus, jansoft easyxml, he has created a dataset and conversion routines, worth a look anyway. Dave Thanks for the tip. EasyXML looks interesting. I'll give it a closer look. In addition, I found some routines in the JEDI library for Delphi. Like EasyXML, it has to be converted from Delphi to Lazarus.
