Anybody been Able To Load Images into Sqlite3 Database (and get them back) lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mrmikehicks · 2010-03-31 08:01 I have a very simple application that runs (so far) on windows and linux. It uses sqlite3dataset and I cannot get images back from the database. I am using just a sqlite3dataset, a datasource, a few edit fields and a few dbimages (the dbimages are mapped to database 'blob' fields.) When I drag a picture into one of the dbimages, all seems ok (won't get into the drag and drop issues yet), and I can save the image into the database (least it doesn't bitch about it), however when I then click the dbnavigator to advance to the next record, and then click again, to come back, the picture is not reloaded back into the dbimage. It doesn't crash or anything, it just doesn't do anything with the dbimage. There has been a lot of talk about the sqlite3 laz implementation not being able to handle blob fields, but most of those posts are several years old. The dataset.creatblobstream returns a Tstream, not a tstringlist as said in the past. So there is hope that it might actually work. Now my question. Has anyone out there successfully put a dbimage into an sqlite3 database and got it back out??? Using laz 0.9.29 and fpc 2.4.1 with sqlite3dataset from (sqlite3laz.lpk that comes with 0.9.29) If you did it with zeos lib, please let me know how, I loaded zeos but have no idea how to set it up. Rather than just a simple dataset, it has a connection, a database, a query, and it asks for lots of info I don't have, etc. As always, you folks have always come to my rescue, and I have also been able to impart a bit of experience on here too, so thanks in advance.      Mike ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mrmikehicks · 2010-03-31 21:53 Update:   I can get the blob field back from the database. I am using the 'onscroll' event to time when to reload the dbimage components. When that event fires (which is practically for everything happening with the dbnavigator) I check if the any of the blob fields are 'not empty' and if so, then call a procedure to fill the dbimage from the returned blob field. That's where it bombs, trying to load the dbimage component.
