TDBGrids are not refreshing properly?

I have noticed that on quite a number of computers TDBGrid does not
refresh properly.

On Windows 2000 systems, bits of the desktop often appear behind the
characters, and it is necessary to switch to a screen with a plain
background then switch back to grid before the characters show.

On some Windows XP systems too, when you scroll to the bottom and
begin to scroll back up, the characters tend to overwrite each other.
It is as though the background is not cleared before the new
characters are redrawn.

Is this a known issue?
