TDBLookupCombobox.Text property doesn't show.

At runtime the DBLookupComboBox.ListSource.DataSet is set. The Text
property is still empty. I want to have the first listitem visible, so
I set ItemIndex to 0. Text is set but still not shown. Why not?

Do you have tried setting ListFieldIndex to 0 ?

ListFieldIndex refers to the index of a field in the
ListSource.DataSet.Fields property. Setting it to 0 doesn't solve my
problem.

Solved. The combobox is populated/refreshed in a button click event
handler. In FormCreate I called this method. Apparently the
listsource.dataset is loaded but the Text in the main box is not set.
When calling this method in the OnShow event handler it works as
expected.
