Certain issues with MemDataset

I'm working on a project using only MemDatasets as database.
So far, so good, I even realized how to enforce referential integrity
(cascade insert/update/delete), but, I have encountered some minor
issues:
1. It seems that Locate method does not work.
2. It seems that Filter, Filtered does not work either. The only way I
could set filtration was hardcoding through OnFilterRecord event and
Accept variable.
3. Is there any way to disable all events (break assignement between
event property and event procedure), do some processing and then
restore all events again. I know to do it manually, but is there any
way to generically do that?

Any comments?

One more thing, MemDataset.LoadFromFile method seems to be incredibly
slow....
I thought I would be able to save datasets on FormClose and load
previous session on FormCreate event, but it is absolutely too slow
for regular usage. The same set of records that I can import from CSV
in matter of seconds, MemDataSet.LoadFromFile needs 15 minutes. Why?
