PARADOX TABLES WITH SQL lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thales · 2009-08-06 20:27 hi! i'm new to lazarus (i'm trying to migrate from delphi) and first thing i am having trouble with is paradox tables... i think there must be some kind of component to manipulate paradox tables the same way we have tdbf for dbase, but the thing is that, in delphi, i would use the tquery object, that allows you use sql with paradox and dbase tables... i even converted my paradox tables to dbase tables so that i could use the tdbf component instead, but, there is no way to use sql with it... ok, i tried using the tsqlquery component but it requires a database component of the sqldb palette ¬¬ is there any way to manipulate paradox and dbase tables with sql in lazarus? can anyone help me with that? i'm kinda lost here... thanks THALES VAZ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- theo · 2009-08-07 08:13 See here for options: http://wiki.freepascal.org/Databases For simple SQLite usage see also: http://wiki.freepascal.org/Lazarus_Database_Tutorial#Lazarus_and_SQLit e ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thales · 2009-08-07 14:40 ok, now I'm screwed... i tried installing the sqlite3laz.lpk and sqlitelaz.lpk packages. i also downloaded the sqlite3.dll files... when I rebuild lazarus, it says it wasnt possible to find the sqlite dll. i renamed sqlite3 to sqlite (both dll and def files) but it didnt work either... cool thing now is that lazarus ide wont even start... because of the 'missing' dll... what am i supposed to do in this case? THALES VAZ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- theo · 2009-08-07 15:36 You probably don't need both packages. Keep sqlite3laz.lpk and uninstall the other. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thales · 2009-08-07 15:41 i didnt find in the wikis how to do that step-by-step successfully... maybe i should read about sqlite first ---------------------------------------------------------------------- theo · 2009-08-07 15:48 Quote from: thales on August 07, 2009, 05:41:41 pmi didnt find in the wikis how to do that step-by-step successfully...
