TSQLQuery locate raises sigsegv when record not found lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mrcampbell · 2009-07-10 21:29 Hello, I'm a Kylix programmer who is getting to grips with Lazarus. Most of it has been trouble free but I'm having a little problem with the locate procedure on a TSQLQuery connected to a PQConnection component. The code is pretty straightforward:       Timingcircuit:=dm1.Qtimingscircuit.value;       IF Timingcircuit=0 THEN circuit:=0 ELSE       IF dm1.Qinput.Locate('item',timingcircuit,[])=true       THEN         BEGIN         circuit:=dm1.QInput.RecNo         END ELSE circuit:=-1; Now if the locate procedure is successful - i.e. the record is found, then everything works fine. If the record is not found, the program gives the following error: Project raised exception class "External SIGSEGV" followed by a window reading: Execution paused Adress: $0829DA22 Procedure: BUFDATASET_DBCOMPAREINT$POINTER$POINTER$TLOCATEOPTIONS$$INT64 Do I have to put locate options in here? Kylix allows an empty set of options and they aren't really relevant when locating on an integer. Lazarus version is 0.9.26beta. Postgresql 8.0.13 although that's probably not relevant. System is Mandriva 2009.1 Thanks for any help John C ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Loesje · 2009-07-11 09:35 In principle, this should work. You can try it with some options, though. And create a bug-report for it, so that it won't be forgotten ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mrcampbell · 2009-07-11 10:27 Thanks. I have tried with loCaseInsensitive and get the same result. I'm kind of surprised that nobody else has had this problem - locate is a fairly extensively used procedure (isn't it?). Could you quickly explain how to submit a bug report as I've never done this before. Thanks John C ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2009-07-12 23:12 Create an account and look in our bugtracker how others reported.
