Basic questions re: Lazarus & SQLite lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SteveF · 2009-02-22 22:00 OK, I'm coming into this needing some really basic answers to get things going.  I've got Lazarus hooked up to an SQLite DB I created, but there are some things I haven't figured out yet: 1.  If I'm dealing with a Master/Child table relationship, how ( and to what ) do I set the MasterField Property in the child-table connection? 2.  How do I point a connection to a View instead of a table? I've got one other question right now, but I'll start a separate thread for that. Thanks, SteveF ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LuizAmérico · 2009-02-23 11:20 What component are you using? TSqlite3Dataset or sqldb/TSqlQuery/Sqlite3Connection? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SteveF · 2009-02-23 20:38 Hi LuizAmerico, I'm trying out the TSQLite3Dataset component.  If the other would be easier to use, please provide directions for the setup. Thanks, Steve ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LuizAmérico · 2009-02-23 21:05 In fact i'm the developer of TSqlite3Dataset, so i could help only with that. To setup a master detail relation take a look at the tutorials: http://www.geocities.com/camara_luiz/documentation.html To point to a view, first is necessary to create a view using the sql syntax (see: http://www.sqlite.org/lang_createview.html). Execute ExecSql method with that command. After the view is created (is necessary to create only once) set the Sql property to 'Select * from ViewName' and than call Open. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SteveF · 2009-02-24 20:54 Luiz Americo, I downloaded your tutorial, and I'm working through it.  From what I've seen already, the answers I need are in there. Thank you very much, Steve Frye
