Lazarus 9.26 and hang on Locate method lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nix_d · 2009-01-06 15:26 I have been trying to install Lazarus 9.26 with fpc 2.2.2 then i found problem using Locate method while locating record on datasource. i am using MySql 5 and i found no problem with lazarus 9.24. After using Lazarus 9.26, i cant using method Locate. Also, when i tried to preview my data list using lazreport, it generated a never end pages. Is there something wrong in Laz 9.26 with MySql? Or should I do some adjustment/fixing on my codes to locate records or viewing Lazreport? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Loesje · 2009-01-18 21:46 The lazarus version has probably nothing to do with it. It's the fpc- version that counts. Are you using fpc 2.2.0 with Lazarus 0.9.24? Can you give an example, what you try to do with locate? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nix_d · 2009-01-19 04:30 i use TSQLquery (query1) and show the data on TDbGrid. Then i put TEdit (Edit1) for accepting data i'd like to search then push the Button "Search". event Button1Click:   query1.locate('name',edit1.text,[loCaseInsensitive,loPartialKey]); the response should be: selected row will be pointed on DbGrid. This worked on Laz 9.24 but when I was upgrading to Laz 9.26 then the application seem to be hung. Also everytime I preview one page report on LazReport, it will show a never ending pages (it will keep counting the pages). Have you been using the Lazarus 9.26? Im using win32 version. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Loesje · 2009-01-19 09:25 I don't use Lazarus at all. And as I said, the Lazarus version is (probably) completely  irrelevant. Lazarus is only an ide (like notepad) plus some graphical libraries around fpc (free pascal compiler). This is not a graphical problem, so it has nothing to do with Lazarus. You have a problem with fpc. So now I need to know which version of fpc you are using. Because Locate changed a lot between different fpc- versions. And maybe you could try to debug a bit. Try to remove the [loCaseInsensitive,loPartialKey] part. Also remove the edit1.text, and replace it by some hard-coded string. And try some different strings. Avoid the use of an empty string for starters... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nix_d · 2009-01-19 10:01 sorry im not an expert on programming. i m just an instanly programmer. i was using the same fpc 2.2.2. while trying Laz 9.26 It was working on Laz 6.24 fpc 2.2. i was just trying laz 9.27 fpc 2.3 but still have the problem. i think the fpc has bug on finding EOF mark on mysql perhaps? btw i ask applogize for my bad english and my minimum skill on programming. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Loesje · 2009-01-19 10:55 I've found the problem. It was a bug in fpc. After a locate, TSQLQuery.DisableControls was true. It's fixed in r12568, fpc 2.3.1. You can wait for a new snapshot to be build tonight, and try again tomorrow using fpc 2.3.1. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nix_d · 2009-01-20 06:39 how could i know the fpc is r12568? in lazarus daily snapshot, the fpc is named by upload date. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2009-01-20 07:31 You cannot. You only can see on what day it has been compiled and you may assume that it uses svn HEAD (i.e. the latest) revision of that day. For more information about revisions and dates, see http://svn.freepascal.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/trunk/ or http://svn.freepascal.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/fpc- trunk.log?view=markup&root=logs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nix_d · 2009-01-21 11:04 Is it already fpc r12568? i dont know how to check. Help me please?.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2009-01-21 11:20 Probably yes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nix_d · 2009-01-29 16:57 still i was having problem using locate method. but i think the problem is in the lazarus component (tsqlquery) not in fpc. i was downloading and installing ZeosLib component and my application is working fine now. thanx. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2009-01-30 12:40 The tsqlquery component is part of the fpc distribution.
