Unable to access Columns in RxDBGrid

I am unable to access the Columns property since upgrading to Lazarus

Version #: 0.9.27 beta
Date: 2008-12-10
FPC Version: 2.2.3
on Windows Vista

I have 4 columns defined in RxDBGrid at design time, but I get an
error when attempting to access columns 0 - 3.  The Columns.Count
field is 0 (zero).

The Columns.Count field does update if I add columns at run-time.

Can someone help?
