I have inherited the published  events for TSQLConnection into the
MySQL(5)*.inc file and the IDE still won't assign the events to the
component.

I have rebuilt the IDE and still - it's not working.  I tried to
create component and assign methods and these events are not found.
 What is the problem?  Is there another place I need to modify the
source to these components?

TSQLConnection is part of fpc, not lazarus. So rebuilding Lazarus
won't help.

But I have no idea what you are trying to do. If you want to execute
some code at some event, just assign an event-handler to that event.
That's where events are for. You don't have to inherit anything?
