Hi,
  I will prepare for new project with lazarus + firebird.

I will use the component in palette SQLdb: TIBConnection.

I ask you:
Wath version of Firebird is supported by TIBConnection?
I try with 1.5 and seems to work fine, but I will use new version 2.
I tried in a sample project to set the property "LoginPrompt" to True,
but it do not prompt me a password request dialog, why? If i set the
properties "UserName" and "Password" in Object Inspector then
connection to database is ok, but i do not would save the password on
surce code.

TIBConnection is not a graphical component.

For a login-prompt you'll need a graphical interface, and fpc doesn't
have that. So we have to come up with some trick to make it possible
for lazarus to implement such a login-box.
