[SOLVED] Can not load Oracle Client; but it is installed. lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rael · 2008-04-17 03:39 Hello there. I'm trying to make a connection with Oracle using TOracleConnection with Lazarus 0.9.24 beta on Ubuntu 64. My client is installed on /usr/lib/oracle/ Lazarus says it can't load the file libociei.so, but I see is installed on /usr/lib/oracle/11.1.0.1/client/lib/libociei.so And I'm using Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.6.0 - 64bit Production Is there a way to configure Lazarus in order to see such file? Or am I missing some Oracle Client configuration? Any help would be appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bee · 2008-04-17 05:35 Make symlinks to all Oracle's library and place the symlinks inside /lib folder. It works for my case. I don't understand why Lazarus (or FPC?) always search libraries in /lib folder. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2008-04-17 06:47 QuoteI don't understand why Lazarus (or FPC?) always search libraries in /lib folder. Change -Fu and -Fl in your fpc.cfg to point to directories where you put the libraries in. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rael · 2008-04-17 18:56 Thanks for your replies guys, unfortunately I still got the same message from Lazarus. I made symlinks as you told me bee, and also I uncomment the -Fu and -Fl paths on fpc.cfg that point to the /lib folder, Leledumbo, I restarted Lazarus and still can't find them. I also, I added a path to where the original libraries stand. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2008-04-23 12:10 maybe silly question, but are you using the 64bit fpc version or the 32bit version ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rael · 2008-04-25 23:27 Not sir, it was not a silly question,  I installed a 32bit client. I downloaded the appropriate client for my architecture and I'm capable of connecting Lazarus with Oracle. This problem is solved. Thank you all of you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- IndianaJones · 2008-04-26 01:29 Hi all, I also have the same problem but in mac os x. Lazarus says it can't load the file libociei.so. But in Mac the filename extension is dylib. Anyone has experience it before on Mac?
