If it can show you where the type is declared, then you might need to set project requirement via Project Inspector. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- windy · 2008-05-18 21:55 Hi I am also wanting to add mysql support to a conole program (i.e no forms (for no x windows linux)) I have used succesfully the mysql components in a full application (i.e with the components on a form) but is the a tutorial or code examples for how to add and link and work with those components via code only? (i.e by creating them manualy, and setting them manualy) or maybe I  just need to jump in and try? thanks! Brian ---------------------------------------------------------------------- windy · 2008-05-21 05:56 Hi I got it working by using the format mycomponent:=tmycomponent.create(nil);
