sqlite3dataset result ? ...

Greetings, for few days ive been reading tutorials and examples for
databases and stuff but i cant seem to get a result...

What i have on the form is:
DBtext1, Button1, datasource1, sqlite3dataset1

What im trying to get out of the database:

|text      |description   |
+-------+--------------+
|text1   |description    |
+-------+--------------+
|text2   |description    |
+-------+--------------+

etc...

sqlite3dataset1.SQL := 'SELECT Description FROM Tablename WHERE
Text='blabla';

and DBtext1.caption to become the result ... none of the tutorials in
the wiki helped ...

... fields / fieldbyname()  doesn't cut it cause if i knew the field
id i wouldn't be doing the WHERE text=''; thing ...

So what i don't get from all the tutorials and examples is how
actually i get the result for the sql query ...

Help me ...  :shock:

you mixup the definition of field and records.
A record is one row in your resultset (each line in your example) and
it is "limited" by the where clause.
Fields are all the columns you select, in your example there is only
one field -> Description.
If you want to display more than one record, you can use a DBGrid.
A DBText only shows the value of the current record of the field you
assigned to it.
