SQLitePass_0.27 error when compiling lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- davesimplewear · 2007-05-21 01:47 I am using the lazarus build 0.9.23 and SQLitePass_0.27, when I try to compile the runtime package (as it says in the documentation) I get a message :error no member is provided to access property in line 1184,24 of sqlitepassdbo.pas (AFieldDef.DisplayName :=  AFieldDef.Name;) has anyone else had this problem? and is there a work around? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Luc · 2007-05-24 11:59 I just dowloaded Lazarus-0.9.23-fpc-2.0.4-20070518-win32.exe and installed properly the SqlitePass Runtime and Design time package (even if  I could see many warnings...) Are you using exactly the same Lazarus distribution ? Does your TFieldDef interface look exactly like this (Check especially the lines in red) ? located in ..\lazarus-0.9.23\fpc\2.0.4\source\fcl\db.pp line 130:   { TFieldDef }   TFieldDef = class(TCollectionItem)   Private     FDataType : TFieldType;     FFieldNo : Longint;     FInternalCalcField : Boolean;     FPrecision : Longint;     FRequired : Boolean;     FSize : Word;     FName : String;     FDisplayName : String;     FAttributes : TFieldAttributes;     Function GetFieldClass : TFieldClass;     procedure SetAttributes(AValue: TFieldAttributes);     procedure SetDataType(AValue: TFieldType);     procedure SetPrecision(const AValue: Longint);     procedure SetSize(const AValue: Word);     procedure SetRequired(const AValue: Boolean);   protected     function GetDisplayName: string; override;     procedure SetDisplayName(const AValue: string); override;   public     constructor Create(AOwner: TFieldDefs; const AName: string;       ADataType: TFieldType; ASize: Word; ARequired: Boolean; AFieldNo: Longint);     destructor Destroy; override;     procedure Assign(APersistent: TPersistent); override;     function CreateField(AOwner: TComponent): TField;     property FieldClass: TFieldClass read GetFieldClass;     property FieldNo: Longint read FFieldNo;     property InternalCalcField: Boolean read FInternalCalcField write FInternalCalcField;     property Required: Boolean read FRequired write SetRequired;   Published     property Attributes: TFieldAttributes read FAttributes write SetAttributes default [];    property Name: string read FName write FName; // Must move to TNamedItem     property DisplayName : string read FDisplayName write FDisplayName; // Must move to TNamedItem    property DataType: TFieldType read FDataType write SetDataType;     property Precision: Longint read FPrecision write SetPrecision;     property Size: Word read FSize write SetSize;   end; If your answer is yes, then I don't understand what's going on... A quick work around is to comment this line of code (It will not really impact the component behavior, i.e. you will still get the same bugs as the others users ! ) Anyway, thanks for testing this component. The next version will be available in about two weeks, so if you still have this kind of problem, let me know and I will check it deeply. Luc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- davesimplewear · 2007-05-25 06:15 Hi Luc, The lazarus version I am using is Lazarus-0.9.23-fpc-2.1.5-20070518-win32.exe, it appears that in this build the db.pp doesn't exist and they have changed the structure of fpc to : \lazarus\fpc\2.1.5\source\packages\fcl-db\src, I am having trouble with some other packages that compiled ok before in the previous version as well.
