Why do I get this error in MySQL demo (linux) lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rturney · 2007-05-17 04:00 I have been following the discussion on the MySQL tutorial/demo http://freeflow.awardspace.com/lazarus.html   and have been trying to get it to work in Linux (SUSE 10.2).  I get good results until I click the "Select Database" button.  This causes this error: QuoteProject raised exception class 'EDatabaseError' - Operation cannot be performed on an active dataset.  I get the impression that Windows users aren't having this problem, just linux users are. Any ideas would be appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- arwen · 2007-05-18 09:59 I have try the demo on linux Fedora Core 5 now. Effectively I receive the same message of warning but giving OK (in phase of debug it must make start) the application works and I can execute a Query . I have had this message opening the tables of MySQL: information_schema mysql We would have to try with an other table. Sincerely I do not know because but some guru of MySQL can help us.   ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rturney · 2007-05-18 12:59 I get the error on any database I try including those that I have created myself.  Quoteby arwen: ...I receive the same message of warning but giving OK (in phase of debug it must make start) the application works and I can execute a Query. I also can click "ok" to the message and the application continues to work, filling the Fields list and allowing Queries to be executed. I have not been able to prevent the error or find the source of it. Does this error occur when running under Windows? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- arwen · 2007-05-19 07:33 With windows it works correctly without strange messages . Try to compile after you have set the SQLQuery.ParseSQL to false in the object inspector I don't know why but I solved some problem on windows operating as mentioned above . http://www.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtop ic&t=3761  :? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rturney · 2007-05-20 05:08 Quote from: "arwen" Try to compile after you have set the SQLQuery.ParseSQL to false in the object inspector Thanks, but I still get the error. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rturney · 2007-05-24 15:55 Quote from: "arwen"With windows it works correctly without strange messages . Since the same code causes an error when running in Linux, should a Bug Report be filed? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- arwen · 2007-06-14 12:17 On a Fedora 7 I don't make a manual link to mysql.so library but I have installed the MySQLClient14 rpm and the problem is solved. Thanks to all   ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rturney · 2007-06-15 03:21 Quote from: "arwen"On a Fedora 7 I don't make a manual link to mysql.so library Are you referring to libmysqlclient.so ? Quote from: "arwen"but I have installed the MySQLClient14 rpm and the problem is solved. I looked for MySQLClient14 but it appears to be for Fedora and Red Hat.  I'm not sure it would help for SUSE 10.2 so I'll check into it some more. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- arwen · 2007-06-15 06:10 HI rturney QuoteAre you referring to libmysqlclient.so ?
