osx 64Bit, mysql 5.1.51 server, mysqlclient.dylib loading error

I have developed a small 32 bit osx app that connects to a mysql
5.1.51 server. So far so good.
Now I had to recompile the project to 64Bit because upgrading to OSX
Catalina.
So I had to change the mysqlclient.dylib from 32bit to 64bit.
Running the app wihtin lazarus works as expected. But running the app
standanlone drives me crazy.
I always come accross a warning: "Dylib missing, check installation"
or "image not found", depending on the build version (5.1.x) of the
library.
(Using the 32Bit library causes the error wrong architecture, well
thats as expected.)
The path of the library is correct.
While the app runs wihtin lazarus I have no idea how to debug that
problem.

Strange behavior.

Any ideas?

However, first things to attempt is running from a terminal as that
usually displays some relevant information. If that isn't helpful then
on linux you can use something like strace that will enable you to
display all kinds of interesting information when you run your app
through it (such as where the app searches for the libraries and which
libraries it tries to open with success/fail status). I believe the
linux strace equivalent for macos is named dtruss ?

A quick search on these forums for dtruss seem you need to take care
of some things. I advise to do the same search for dtruss on these
forums (or any other forum that has the knowledge) to get yourself
familiar with how to setup and use.

I'd rather guess, there is no driver/client-lib for 5.1.51 for
Catalina (macos 10.15).
The highest macos-Version for 5.1.x is 10.6 (Snow Leopard) (32 and
64-Bit)

Upgrade the Server

Thanks for replying. I was using terminal to run the applicaiton and
yes that lead me to the solution.
It was not related to the dylib. By the way the 5.1.x does support 64
Bit, you can use it with cartalina.
