[Solved] kbmMemTable, it works for you? lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lainz · 2022-02-23 22:11 Hi, we want to know if kbmMemTable works in FPC http://www.components4developers.com/shop.html And if it works well. We want to use it as replacement of bufdataset. Thanks for your comments ---------------------------------------------------------------------- winni · 2022-02-23 22:26 Hi! Taste and try: [Link to a dubious site which distributes the sources of commercial units removed] Winni ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lainz · 2022-02-23 23:00 Thanks winni if it works we can buy the license. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sieben · 2022-02-23 23:12 Some years ago now, but every version of kbmMemTable I worked with so far proved reliable, flexible and fast. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcov · 2022-02-24 09:09 Community edition of kbwmemtable is free, but iirc is precompiled Delphi units, so might not work with lazarus, or only with release windows versions. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lainz · 2022-02-24 14:14 I've tried the pirate version, and doesn't works well on Linux, so it doesn't works for our cross platform projects. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wp · 2022-02-24 20:34 They write on their website that "As subscriber, access to older versions supporting D5 to D2007 and FPC is available". So this could mean that FPC is no longer supported by the version that you tested, and if you'd use an older version your tests could succeed. But on the other hand I would not feel very comfortable with a vendor who not longer supports "my" compiler. If they don't maintain their product regarding FPC version any more, then what is the last supported FPC version, 3.0.x?, 2.x?, or maybe even a 1.x verion? Is TBufDataset really so weak in comparison with TkbmMemTable that it is worth thinking of such an adventure? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lainz · 2022-02-24 20:58 It works on Windows 11, but we need as well linux and macos. I suppose for macos we use trunk, because it has more and more fixes, and this library doesn't compile in trunk. Even demo projects doesn't open, so maybe an old format for the project. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Components4Developers · 2022-03-03 00:25 We support FPC on and off. Not every release is tested towards FPC, but next release (7.96) is planned to compile with FPC. Oh... and thank you for NOT using pirated software! Also beware you may get "BONUS" material with your pirated software which you would not like to get. Kim Madsen/C4D ---------------------------------------------------------------------- esvignolo · 2022-03-03 02:57 Hello Kim, do you know when you could have this version available for FPC? Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Components4Developers · 2022-03-03 10:28 Hi, I expect the next kbmMemTable release to be out within a week. /Kim/C4D ---------------------------------------------------------------------- esvignolo · 2022-03-04 03:16 Hi Kim, can you please let us know as we are interested in adding it to our FPC project. Thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- miab3 · 2022-03-04 08:39 Hi WP, In fact, kbmMemTable(and kbmMemQuery) is so good that it's worth thinking about this adventure.
