Quote    Installation Instructions If you have a RPM-based distribution (such as Fedora or Mandravia) and you install FreePascal as root, we recommend using the Indy RPM. As a user, setup your user account to build RPM's with the advice from http://www.rpm.org/hintskinks/buildtree/ and then use the makeindyrpm.sh script to build the Indy RPM's. Then install the indy-fpc and indy-fpc-src RPM's that you created. We do NOT distribute precompiled Indy RPM binaries. We do permit others to build RPM's for distribution. If you have a Debian-based Linux distribution and you have installed Free Pascal as a Debian package, you can make .deb packages with "chmod 755 fpc/debian/rules", "dpkg-buildpackag -rfakeroot" and than install them with "dpkg -install indy*.deb". Otherwise, do the following: Change directory to "fpc" and run "make all". If you are using Windows, you must use the GNU BinUtils Make program that is included in most FreePascal distributions. Run "make all" followed by "make install" from the fpc directory. You may be able to specify an install prefix by adding "INSTALL_PREFIX=fpcbasedir". If you are running Lazarus, you may install the design-time package into Lazarus. Just open, compile, and install the indylaz.lpk file located in the lazarus directory.  Those design-time packages have not been tested yet. You probably should read the Development Tutorial (aka Build FAQ) at http://www.stack.nl/~marcov/buildfaq.pdf for more information about the FreePascal build process. /BlueIcaro ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ahmetnurideniz · 2010-08-21 12:33 sorry i am useing windows xp sp3. i find indy file for lazarus but .zip file can't extact. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BlueIcaro · 2010-08-21 13:35 Quote from: ahmetnurideniz on August 21, 2010, 02:33:36 pmsorry i am useing windows xp sp3. i find indy file for lazarus but .zip file can't extact. Your latest reply was very helpful for me when I was finding a method how to install the Indy package. Finally, I succeed like you. My environment was: - Lazarus Version: 0.9.28.2 beta. - installed path of Lazarus: C:\Lazarus - OS: Windows XP. The process steps: 1. downloaded the package from website - http://www.indyproject.org/sockets/fpc/indy-10.2.0.3.zip 2. un-pack the package to the below path. - c:\lazarus\indy-10.2.0.3\ 3. copy all files from “c:\lazarus\indy-10.2.0.3\fpc\” to “c:\lazarus\indy-10.2.0.3\lazarus\” - Some confirmation dialogs shown because there were some duplicated files. But, just I selected [skip]. 4. [Package]-[Open package file (.lpk)] - Selected the package file “c:\lazarus\indy-10.2.0.3\lazarus\indylaz.lpk”. - Selected [Install] button. - But, it Lazarus there was error message like this:   > IdStreamVCL.pas(78,12) Fatal: Can't find unit IdStreamVCL used by IdStream 5. [Project]-[Compiler Options] - Selected [Test] button on [Paths] tab. 6. went back step 4. 7. After compiling, Lazarus was re-started automatically. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- xinyiman · 2011-02-08 11:20 I followed the last instructions, but it returns the following error. (A) Compiling Indy 10 ================ To compile Indy 10, you have go to the package's compiler paths and add the path to your Indy 10 files on the hard disk. For instance, mine are as shown below Other Unit Files (-Fu) Code: [Select]$(LazarusDir)\components_extra\indy- 10.2.0.3\fpc\;$(LazarusDir)\components_extra\indy-10.2.0.3\lazarus\ Include Files (-Fi) Code: [Select]$(LazarusDir)\components_extra\indy-10.2.0.3\fpc\ You have to modify the file paths above to suit your installation. (B) Using Indy 10 in projects ===================== To use Indy 10 in your projects, you have to add the Indy 10 file path to other unit files in compiler options Other Unit Files (-Fu) Code: [Select]$(LazarusDir)\components_extra\indy- 10.2.0.3\fpc\;$(LazarusDir)\components_extra\indy-10.2.0.3 \lazarus\ Modify the file paths as needed for your installation. That's it! I hope it works for you.
