How to stop Assembler window from popping up on exception? lazarus / 12-Debugger ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Eugene Loza · 2016-09-12 08:51 Sorry for such a noobish question. But still I could find no way to turn off Assembler window from popping up each time I catch an exception (and I do often!). While I do understand Assembler a little, there is absolutely no useful information for me there. I'd rather have a pointer to the last line of code before the error happened (which I could only dream of in case of SIGSEGVs)... But yet I get just an additional window to hunt for that tiny "close" button. It should be somewhere in "Tools>Options>Debugger" or in "Project>Project Options>Debugging", but I could not find anything obvious. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2016-09-12 10:29 There is no option to disable it. On Exception, the debugger tries to show the pascal source and failing that it will show asm. I dont recall the exact rules for finding the pas source. It may be that sometimes you can still find it using the stacktrace. Other times there may not be valid stack info. For example if the crash is in a dll, or in the kernel, the debugger often can not get the  stack info. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Eugene Loza · 2016-09-13 08:31 Quote from: Martin_fr on September 12, 2016, 12:29:19 pmThere is no option to disable it.Thanks for your reply! I'll have to live with it then ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JuhaManninen · 2016-09-13 09:21 I believe a patch implementing an option to disable it would be accepted.
