No terminal window in windows 7

I am running Lazarus 1.2.6 on Windows 7.
Debugging a console program in the IDE I can't write anything to the
terminal and I can't figure out how to open a debug terminal.
I only get an error 103 (file not found) when running a program
containing say writeln('Hello');.
Any tip is appreciated.

Project Options -> Compiler Options -> Config and Target
Uncheck: "Win32 gui application (-WG)
